Programs Offered:
Students in this program will be trained in all aspects of automotive maintenance and repair. Classes cover topics including tires and suspension, computers and diagnostics. The program is one of Advanced Technology Institute's NATEF/ASE Master Certified Automotive Technology Programs.
This program will teach students to use large vehicles including tractor trailers, off the road construction equipment, crop harvesting vehicles, large yachts and motor vessels. Classes are taken in the large shop area which has been outfitted with engines ranging from 400 to 12,000 pounds as well as a large variety of manual and automatic transmissions.
Courses will cover all heating systems and pumps, air-conditioning, refrigeration systems and commercial and residential issues. The program is held at an authorized ESCO and Nate Testing Center and offers EPA approved refrigerant handling certification. Students will have the opportunity to be trained on dozens of operational units.
Structural Program
This diploma program trains students in the practical aspects of the building and repair of steel equipment and structures. Modern wielding equipment is used in classes and in the laboratory, and students will have the opportunity to get hands-on training in a highly realistic setting. Graduates of this program will be prepared for entry-level jobs with companies performing wielding construction and repair.
Combination Program
This diploma program does everything the Structural Program does, but students will also learn to weld pipe in multiple positions. Graduates of this program will be prepared for entry-level jobs as a combination structural and pipe welder.
Two options are available for students interested in this program: ASE Core & High Performance or ASE/Ford Core & High Performance. Either choice will prepare students with all of the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level jobs t as a repair technician in a performance shop as well as pit crew positions on the racing circuits. Both laboratory and classroom settings are used.
